2019 Nissan Titan Nismo: High-Performance Truck Officially Announced

According to Nismo boss Takao Katagiri, Nissan’s high-performance division is working on one more all-new model. However, this time, the car is going to be capable for some serious off-road adventures, because they are building the Nismo pickup truck. Now, the car manufacturer hasn’t released any closer information about this matter, but unofficially, they are definitely building the 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo. More precisely, we think it’s going to be introduced as the 2019 model, simply because there is no too much job to be done. If you remember, the carmaker introduced the Titan Warrior concept at 2016 Detroit Motor Show, and we are pretty sure that the production-ready model won’t receive too dramatic changes.

The aforementioned concept was heavily based on the heavy-duty Titan XD, which won’t be the case with the 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo. Instead, the high-end pickup truck will likely have more in common with the gasoline model. The carmaker hasn’t said anything regarding of the engines, yet we think it’s going to be a gasoline mill without any doubt. In contrast to the Titan Warrior that was previewed with a 5.0-liter Cummins turbodiesel engine, the future Nismo truck will probably use an impressive twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-6 engine. The unit is capable of producing up to 545 horsepower, which is a far more from Ford’s all-new Raptor that can’t cross 450 horsepower.

The 2019 Nissan Titan Nismo won’t be just the “big engine truck”. No, the vehicle will feature a number of other features. The carmaker will likely use some carbon fiber body panels to make the pickup lighter and will add a special off-road suspension. Styling wise, the truck will definitely get several styling tweaks that will point out Nismo look, as well as a bit wider front-end styling with all-new headlights, redesigned grille, and bigger bumper with a larger air intake. The engine might get additional cooling from the hood scoop. Of course, the manufacturer will make some serious changes inside as well, but we have nothing closer about this matter.

Stay tuned for updates.
