2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman Introduced and Priced At $31,695

This year’s “The Work Truck Show” in Indianapolis, Indiana was the host of the 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman. The pickup is not just one more flavor with a different grille or new upholstery, but a true work truck that seems to be perfect for construction companies and small businesses.

Ram did not want to make it too fancy because this is not a vehicle for showing off but for work. The exterior is practically basic, though the black color is the most dominant detail for sure. It covers grille and both bumpers. Both bumpers are made of steel, which makes the truck stronger. The carmaker has decided to use 14.9 inches front this time. These are going to be the biggest brakes in the segment. Plus, the 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman uses the awesome Multi-link rear coil suspension with FRD shock absorbers. The feature enables the best-in-class ride and handling without any doubt. Class III trailer hitch and four- and seven-pin trailer wire connectors are standard too.

The Tradesman truck is offered in Quad Cab or Crew Cab body style. You will find an Uconnect 5.0 infotainment with one year of SiriusXM radio inside, as well as 40/20/40 split bench seats and a 12-volt power outlet. A rearview camera is one more standard feature, though the potential buyer can improve its Tradesman with an anti-spin or electric-locking rear differential.

The new-gen Ram 1500 Tradesman can be equipped with three engine options. The starting point is a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with 305 hp and 269 lb-ft of torque. In case you need more power you can get a 395-hp 5.7-liter HEMI V8 or even a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with an eTorque mild hybrid system. Both 4×2 and 4×4 drive configurations are available, while the most capable Tradesman is capable of towing up to 12,750 pounds. Max payload is limited to 2,300 pounds.

Ram’s new work truck is obviously more expensive form its predecessor. The previous model had been priced at $27,095, while the 2019 Ram 1500 Tradesman costs $31,695. Add a $1,645 destination charge and you will get the starting price of $33,340 for the rear-drive Quad Cab truck with the 3.6-liter V6 eTorque mild hybrid.
