New Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 Spied Again

The new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 has been caught once again. The vanilla SUV is still completely wrapped around, so we can’t really say what’s going on beneath. Though, judging by the freshest spy shots, the topper from Mercedes performance department is going to look incomparably better than the regular new-gen GLE.

The reason for the additional beauty lies in a few special styling details. AMG will add Panamerica look of the grille and almost twice wider fenders. Plus, lower stance and larger wheels seem like a perfect combination to spice up the whole situation. Of course, the impressive wheels are paired with beefy tires, while the rear end hosts special exhaust tips which you won’t find on the regular GLE.

Judging by the latest information the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 will use pretty much everything that currently offers the last CLS. More precisely, the SUV will rely on a twin-screen MBUX and cascading dashboard, plus, the carmaker will probably add some special interior lighting and pretty cool aviation air vents at corners of the dash.

Under the hood, the new Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 will definitely get a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine. There’s not any exact output at the moment, though the latest speculations say that the range could be from 571 up to 612 horsepower. All-wheel drive will be a standard part of the system and will be supplied with power via a nine-speed automatic transmission.

AMG department will add a cheaper version of the GLE, but this is not going to be the 43 model as you’ve used to. Instead, the carmaker will introduce the 2019 Mercedes-AMG GLE 53. The SUV will use an inline-6 twin-turbo with “just” 435 horsepower. Of course, the milder model will look a bit different because it’s not going to share the aggressive body kit with the topping GLE 63.

Both AMG units will arrive sometime in 2019, most likely in the very end, so we will catch a dozen of testing models in the coming months. Stay tuned and we will inform you about the progress.
