Today’s Xt5 has been around some two years. The fact is important because the car manufacturer works on the updated model already. Still, the mid-cycle refresh is not going to be as early as it seems at the first glance. No, the car manufacturer plans to introduce the 2020 Cadillac XT5 late next year, so the interesting crossover is going to hit dealerships in early 2020. This means that the refresh is not going to happen too soon, but right on time.
Redesign Changes
As for the testing prototype, well, the camouflage hides the ends, which is quite usual for a mid-cycle update. Even though we can’t really see what’s happening beneath the camo it is quite obvious what the initial idea is. The 2020 Cadillac XT5 will likely feature a totally redesigned front fascia with a new Escala-based grille a pair of slightly revised headlights. The carmaker will probably make some changes on the front bumper as well, so the new air intakes might be pretty much the same as Escala’s as well. The mid-size luxury crossover is going to get a number of changes around back too. The rear hatch should host new and slimmer taillights, while the rear bumper appears to feature a different exhaust design already.
Super Cruise
Cadillac will not forget to introduce a few new touches inside as well. The 2020 XT5 will not skip the chance to get an amazing Super Cruise semi-self-driving system and updated driving aids. The mid-cycle update will include a larger infotainment touchscreen with more functions, as well as a new upholstery treatment.
New Engine Options
The luxury high-riding vehicle will not continue to be a “one engine option” car. Cadillac will definitely add one or maybe even two new powertrain units. The current 3.6-liter V-6 will likely be carried over, so you can expect 310 hp. As for the second choice, it’s going to be a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 unit that’s going to deliver 272 horsepower. Like we said, there might be one more unit in the works. Cadillac offers a mild-hybrid system in China, so the option could become available in North America too.
