We just caught an early prototype of what it appears to be the all-new 2018 Ram HD. Now, since the car manufacturer already introduced the impressive 2500 Power Wagon, it’s pretty obvious that this is something completely different.
2018 Ram HD: New Scoop, New Powertrain
This prototype features quite another sort of hood scoop from the Power Wagon, which leads us to completely other direction. We believe that this might be a Cummins-powered Ram pickup, because the scoop looks less prominent, and moreover it sports lowered profile.
More Than 1,000 lb-ft?
If it turns out to be true, then the 2018 Ram HD could use an impressive Cummins 6.7L Turbo Diesel engine, which currently produces 385 horsepower and 900 pound-feet torque, but it might be boosted in order to outperform Ford’s upgraded 6.7L Power Stroke V-8. As we have found out, Ram plans to reach the magic figure of 1,000 lb-ft of twist. Now, there is nothing official regarding the towing capacity, yet we are absolutely positive it will be the best ever in the segment ever.
