2019 Toyota Auris Touring Sports: Camouflaged Wagon Spotted Outside

Toyota hasn’t said the last word with the new Auris hatchback. Just a month after the interesting car made its official debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show our photographers have managed to catch a prototype of what appears to be the 2019 Toyota Auris Touring Sports. This wagon will practically be a sibling of the aforementioned hatchback, so the camouflage doesn’t really matter here.

The main difference, or advantage, so to say, of the Touring Sports is going to be a significantly bigger cargo space. Though, it’s more important to mention that the new-gen Auris Wagon is going to be larger from its predecessor. According to our sources, the car will add around 40mm in length, while the amazing TNGA platform should enable smarter solutions inside, so we actually expect almost the topping position of the 2019 Toyota Auris Touring Sports when it comes to the interior space. Moreover, the rear end appears to be that the new wagon has much lower and squarely shaped tailgate opening, so it should be able to load bulkier items without any problem.

The 2019 Toyota Auris Touring Sports is going to be offered with several engine options. Let’s get straight: there will be no diesel unit for sure. Instead, the Japanese car manufacturer decided to do a complete electrification of the wagon. The vehicle will likely use a plug-in hybrid with a 1.8-liter gas engine, which will be pretty much the same as Prius’ and C-HR’s, as well as another hybrid that’s mated to a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and develops around 180 horsepower. In case you don’t like any kind of hybrid, you will be able to get the 2019 Auris Touring Sports paired with a 1.2-liter turbo.

To be honest, we don’t really expect the see the 2019 Toyota Auris TS anywhere near the North American border. No, the U.S. drivers are currently suffering from crossover fever which is not going to be over anything soon. Instead, the amazing wagon will be available across Europe and Asia.
