2020 Mercedes-AMG CLA35 Shooting Brake: Svetle Wagon Introduced, But It Won’t Be Available In The US

Can anyone explain how the awesome 2020 Mercedes-AMG CLA35 Shooting Brake isn’t good enough for the North American auto market? Believe it or now, the gorgeous wagon won’t be available in the U.S. and we are really pissed because of that.

Performance-Wise

However, on the other side of the Atlantic, potential buyers will be able to get the car that shares mechanics with the regular CLA35. More precisely, the astonishing wagon features an awesome turbocharged 2.0-liter engine capable of delivering 302 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. The mighty mill sends power to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Though, it’s important to say the ‘box doesn’t feed any kind of all-wheel drive but the carmaker’s special 4Matic all-wheel-drive system that gets a variable torque split of up to 50/50 front-to-rear.

According to Mercedes, the impressive Shooting Brake will speed up from zero to 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds, while top speed is going to be limited to 155 mph. Of course, the wild animal gets a tamer in the form of special suspension, beefy brakes with four-piston front brake calipers, and a unique speed-sensitive electric power steering rack. The automaker offers some amazing additional kit like an adaptive damping system that sports three settings and AMG’s Track Pace data logging program.

Styling And Features

In case you’ve forgotten, Mercedes introduced the regular CLA35 already, so we knew what to expect from the amazing 2020 Mercedes-AMG CLA35 in term of styling. Still, regardless of the fact, the svelte model looks surprisingly good, especially for a wagon. It has been paired with a twin-bar grille in the front, as well as with an attractive bumper that sports quite large air intakes. There’s a special lip for the spoiler in the back, and a pair of round exhaust pipes nested into the new diffuser. The car rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, but potential buyers can get optional 19-inch rims. Also, the automaker offers AMG Night Package and an AMG Aerodynamics Package as more expensive options.

The ultra-attractive wagon offers five drive modes: Slippery, Comfort, Sport, Sport+, and Individual. Inside, the driver will rely on MBUX infotainment system with AMG-specific displays. High-gloss black trim and metallic accents will be borrowed from the CLA35, while the wagon gets unique AMG-branded floor mats and two-tone upholstery.
