2021 Audi A3 Redesigned Compact Spotted Near The Arctic Circle

Scandinavia is very sold these days, which is a good thing for European automakers. Most of them started winter testing and our spies managed to catch several really interesting prototypes. This camouflage hides the upcoming 2021 Audi A3 – yes, this is the sedan variant, and yes, the model will be introduced before the next summer. Judging by the spy shots, the next-generation A3 won’t stay as compact as it is now. The footprint enlargement won’t be everything that will happen though. In addition to a few inches here and there, the redesigned compact will receive an updated architecture and new looks both inside and out.

This sedan variant (as well as the hatchback) will ride on an updated version of Volkswagen Group’s MQB modular platform. In addition to usual gasoline and diesel engines, the next-gen A3 will offer mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. Of course, the most potent mill is reserved for the RS3 variant. This one is going to exploit the automaker’s awesome 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-5w, while the new S3 sits right next to the throne coupled with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4.

The redesigned car will incorporate an evolutionary redesign. The exterior changes will bring more dynamic styling which is quite logical since the successor seems to be borrowing the majority of new cues from the recently redesigned A6. Inside of the cabin, the 2021 Audi A3 gets a completely new look too. There are a new steering wheel and digital instrument cluster, as well as the new infotainment system incorporated into the dashboard. All of this has been spiced up with these quite sporty air vents, new trims, and upholstery.

Audi hasn’t confirmed the exact day of the launch of the 2021 A3, but we are pretty sure it’s going to be introduced at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show next March.
