2018 Chevrolet Suburban Will Come Refreshed. New Trim Level, Engine and Gearbox In The Works

Chevrolet’s oldest SUV from the lineup is one step of receiving some important updates, and as we have found out it will come something in 2017 as the 2018 Chevrolet Suburban. The full-size vehicle that can accommodate up to nine passengers will get the mid-cycle refresh on the exterior and interior, but more important, the changes will happen under the hood.

2018 Chevrolet Suburban Changes: New Trim Level

However, since we have no any spy picture available here, we can tell you just the latest rumors about the possible design changes. The 2018 Chevy Suburban might change its distinctive highly angular look. The manufacturer will likely work on more dynamic exterior styling, and more important, it could try to shed some weight from the body. The front end will receive most of the new styling tweaks, while the rugged SUV could add some new colors too. As we have heard, the 2018 Suburban will be offered with one more range-topping trim level that will be slotted above the Suburban LTZ. This definitely means better equipment and upgraded infotainment and entertainment systems.

2018 Chevrolet Suburban: New Engine and Transmission

Under the hood, the large SUV will offer the same 5.3-liter V-8 engine that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque that powers either the rear wheels or all four wheels, but it also gets a new option. It is a 6.2L V8 L86 engine, which could be rated at 420 horsepower at 5,600 rpm with peak torque of 460 lb-ft that reaches 4,100 rpm. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while the towing could be around 10 percent better form the current.

Like we already said, the updated 2018 Chevrolet Suburban will hit the showrooms sometime in 2017, and the base price should remain the same. However, the newest range-topping trim level could cost almost $70,000.
