2020 Ram Rebel TRX Spied Testing For The First Time

In case you think that you are looking at the regular Ram Big Horn Edition we suggest you look once again because it’s not. No, this is something far more exciting from it. Believe it or not, there is a big chance that we are looking at a testing mule of the 2020 Ram Rebel TRX. The automaker’s high-performance pickup truck seems to be approved for production, so we can expect a pre-production prototype in the coming weeks. However, the vanilla model won’t be introduced before the second half of the next year, which means that it’s not going to become available in dealerships before late 2019 or early 2020 year.

As for the particular testing mule, well, we know it’s the 2020 Rebel TRX thanks to the beefier suspension and different, Fuel Off-Road wheels paired with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires. There is also an underlying support at the bottom of the frame, which stretches from the rear doors all the way to the rear axle. We are pretty sure that the carmaker made the truck stronger with it in order to handle the powerful mill under the hood.

Regarding the engine: the photographers are one hundred percent sure that they’ve heard the 6.2-liter V8 engine which releases very distinctive sound. Now, back then at the State Fair of Texas in 2016, the concept version of the pickup truck was fitted with a detuned version of the Hellcat engine that was able to deliver 575 horsepower. The production version of the 2020 Ram Rebel TRX will likely get more power, yet we don’t expect all available 707 hp. Instead, should be limited to 650 ponies.

In any case, it’s quite clear that the 2020 Ram Rebel TRX is going to outperform its only rival. Still, it’s going to be interesting to see can the manufacturer make as good suspension as Ford did with its Raptor because the truck has to be equally good off- and on the road.
