Don’t get too excited, because the carmaker doesn’t plan anything big for the 2019 GMC Acadia. Still, the amazing SUV will host some small changes shortly after the arrival of the completely redesigned model which is a good sign, because thus the carmaker shows the commitment to the customers.
Exterior and Interior Changes
Anyway, the slightly updated 2019 Acadia will likely stay without any exterior changes. We don’t count a few additional color options among the changes. The new paints will definitely happen, but that’s going to be pretty much everything from the outside. On the other hand, the interior will probably receive a more thoughtful update. GMC will reportedly add two new interior color combinations, but that’s not too important. The important thing is carmaker’s decision to enlarge a number of standard features. As far as we think, they will also update the existing infotainment system and safety aids.
Same Engines and New Transmission
Performance changes are less possible. Moreover, we think that the 2019 GMC Acadia won’t change anything at all beneath the hood. The potential buyers will be able to choose between a standard 2.5-liter inline-4 and optional 3.6-liter V6. We don’t have second thoughts here. The V6 is a far better option, and not just because 310 horsepower over 193 hp of the four-cylinder unit, but also due to the arrival of the optional transmission. Yes, the more expensive and more powerful option will get a 10-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the 2.5-liter unit will stay limited to a six-speed auto only.
Arrival and Price
Do we have to mention that there will be two- and three-row models offered? They will continue to use the C1 architecture and will be produced at the GM Spring Hill factory in Tennessee. The slightly refreshed 2019 GMC Acadia will arrive in the second half of 2018. The price will stay untouched.
