Facelifted 2020 SsangYong Tivoli SUV Spied Testing

We’ve just spotted a facelifted version of SsangYong Tivoli. The crossover SUV that comes from South Korea has been coupled with some camouflage at ends, so there have to be certain changes beneath, while we also expect a small revamp inside of the 2020 SsangYong Tivoli because the prototype covers its dashboard too.

The angular-looking crossover definitely gets a mild refresh. Up front, the updated Tivoli is getting a pair of all-new headlights and a redesigned grille. More precisely, the headlights look boxier from the current ones, while the grille sports metal inserts which should make it more attractive. The front end also sports new fog lamps that seem to be rounder than usual. The refreshed exterior design is also fitted with new spoilers. Also, the rear end gets new sharper graphics for its taillights.

The cabin has been camouflaged as well. This means that the crossover is going to feature at least updated dashboard with some new trim pieces. The Korean automaker will probably use better materials, while the SUV should host updated tech too.

The 2020 SsangYong Tivoli will almost definitely replace the current engine. In place of the gas-fueled naturally aspirated 1.6-liter four-cylinder mill that pumps out 126 horsepower, the interesting crossover SUV will most likely get an all-new a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine. On the other hand, today’s 1.6-liter turbodiesel will stay untouched for now. Both engines will come paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, while an available automatic transmission makes the SUV significantly more expensive. The entry-point model comes mated to a front-wheel-drive system too, but we strongly recommend the optional all-wheel-drive setup. The choice is quite simple: the front-wheel-drive a disaster without any exaggerations and will irritate you for sure. On the other hand, four-wheel drive drastically improves the impression thanks to the different rear suspension layout.

The refreshed SsangYong Tivoli will be introduced next summer. Although the automaker has a plan to introduce the crossover SUV in North America, this is not going to happen now. Instead, the U.S. public will have to wait until the next-gen Tivoli arrives.
