2018 Skoda Yeti Might be Named 2018 Skoda Karoq

Skoda’s new generation Yeti has been spied for the first time. Judging by the spy shots, the interesting crossover will look totally, or better to say, dramatically different from its predecessor. However, taking into account that the current model has more in common with commercial vans than with SUVs, the extensive changes more than welcome. What’s more, the car manufacturer will reportedly rename the new generation crossover, so instead of the all-new 2018 Skoda Yeti, we should see the 2018 Skoda Karoq. At least the latest rumors suggest that.

Anyway, the next generation Yeti features Skoda’s new styling language. More precisely, the latest prototype mirrors the Kodiaq. More precisely, the ends are almost completely identical, while the profile reveals more dynamic bodywork, incomparably sleeker from today’s model.

Aside it’s going to get a more modern look, the completely redesigned 2018 Skoda Yeti will also ride on a new platform. The crossover will use Volkswagen’s MQB architecture, which should significantly improve driving dynamics and make it a little bit lighter. According to our insiders, the successor will grow in size, so there should be more space inside. Of course, the Yeti 2 (or Karoq) will offer seating for five passengers.

Under the hood, the SUV will offer a range of VW’s TSI and TDI engines, yet nothing more potent from a y 2.0-liter turbo diesel. You will be able to choose between front- and four-wheel drive systems, but both options will be paired with a DSG dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

The second-generation Yeti will be introduced in the coming months, probably at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. This means that the redesigned crossover should become available before the end of this year. In any case, there will be more information very soon, so stay tuned for updates.
