A prototype you are looking at is Audi’s all-new crossover. However, it’s not any kind of high-riding vehcile, but the electric SUV. Even though the car manufacturer announced the arrival of the all-new Q6 EV, this isn’t that. No, this is actually a pre-production prototype of the 2019 Audi E-Tron Quatro, which has been previeved in concept for some two years ago at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Judging by the spy shots, the 2019 E-Tron Quatro seems to sports a footprint somewhere in the middle of today’s Q5 and Q7. The camouflaged prototype features plenty of unique details, especailly in the front, where the vehicle gets a new grille, which will be both wider and flatter. The headlights are also very specific, or better to say highly aggressive. On the other hand, the rear hatch looks more slopped, which makes the back end very dynamic and uncommon. Essentially, the production-ready model appears to share a lot with its concept version, which are really great news, becasue the concept looked awesome.
The car manufacturer hasn’t released any specific information regarding the powertrain options of the upcoming 2019 Audi E-Tron Quatro. However, our insider claims that the all-electric crossover should feature a powertrain, which is going to enable the electric range of around 310 miles. Although not as impressive as Tesla’s latest products, the SUV will do the job without any doubt, especailly when you take into account that it’s going to deliver 429 horsepower to all four wheels. More precisely, the front axle will use a single engine, while the rear wheels are getting two motors. Unofficially, Audi is also reconsidering a cheaper variant with two electric motors, which will reportedly be able to cross 200 miles on a single charge.
The 2019 Audi E-Tron Quatro will be introduced sometime next year. There is no price information at the moment.
