Ram’s popular off-road 1500 Rebel pickup truck has been upgraded for the upcoming year, so the potential buyers are going to be able to order the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 very soon. Although it would be pretty amazing that the 12 number signifies a number of cylinders this is not the case with the luxurious workhorse. Instead, it stands for the diagonal of the new touchscreen infotainment.
Yes, from now on, the improved truck hosts brand’s new 12-inch UConnect infotainment system with navigation. This fourth-generation system it’s a lot better from its predecessor as it’s faster and gets sharper graphics. It also features the ability for multi-touch gestures, as well as split-screen capability. The cabin has been significantly improved, too. The automaker added leather seats for the first time, while the interior gets more extensive leather trimmings, heated front seats, and interesting metal speakers with Radar Red. A 900-watt Harmon Kardon system with 19 speakers and a 10-inch subwoofer are also standard. There’s also standard active noise cancellation, of course.
The 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 is coupled with special 33-inch Wrangler DuraTrac tires and special locking rear differential. Off-roading is even better thanks to a factory-specification lift kit and safer because the automaker relocated skid plates exactly where it matters. In case you are not satisfied with standard Bilstein shock absorbers, you can always add some money for the height-adjustable air suspension.
Under the hood, the 2019 Ram 1500 Rebel 12 comes with two engine options. The base model is paired with a 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with eTorque mild-hybrid technology. The more potent version of the pickup truck is the updated 5.7-liter HEMI V8, which comes with or without the fuel-saving aid. Either way, the V8 pumps out 95 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque.
The luxurious off-roader will become available later this year. The automaker set the base price at $48,685, including a $1,695 destination fee.
