The updated 2017 Ram Power Wagon has been introduced at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. The big pickup truck proved once again that possesses quit impressive off-road characteristics, which are made to handle hardcore terrains with ease. Except of the improved performance, the car manufacturer decided to refresh the styling that received some pretty handsome details.
2017 Ram Power Wagon Gets New Suspension System and Hill-Decent Control
From what we saw, the hardcore 2500-based Power Wagon seems ready to fight against Ford’s Raptor. Moreover, Ram’s new pickup features the astonishing package that starts with a familiar 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine that delivers 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, and which is matted to a six-speed automatic transmission. Of course, the 2017 Power Wagon will come with four-wheel-drive, but this time the gearbox will be hooked up to Borg Warner 44-47 transfer case that deliver power to 9.25- and 11.5-inch axles on the front and rear with 4.10-to-1 gear ratios. In addition, the truck has pretty specific suspension that is underpinned by Bilstein monutube shocks absorbers, which are tuned specifically for the weight of the pickup. There are some old but good features like electronically-disconnectable sway bars, while the towing capacity stays at 10,030 and Warn winch achieves 12,000 pounds. The 2017 Ram Power Wagon includes standard Hill-Decent Control which enables the vehicle to go very slowly, and the speed could be controlled via buttons on the column shifter.
2017 Ram Power Wagon Looks More Like The Rebel
Although a beast, the 2017 Power Wagon comes pretty softened from the outside. The exterior treatment made the pickup truck less Raptor and more Rebel, which is definitely a better option. In place of the previous chrome details, the new Power Wagon features a new blacked-out grille and a billet-silver Ram badge in the nose, while the rest of the changing seems to come directly from the Rebel too. This especially refers to the bumpers, wheel arches, mirror caps and especially the headlights. The interior is also refreshed, yet without extensive redesign. There are two options inside of the Crew Cab track, but we are more interested in leather version.
Arrival and Price
The 2017 Ram Power Wagon will be available in the showrooms this fall, but we still don’t know the starting price of the amazing pickup truck.
