2019 Cadillac XT6 will be the name of a new three-row crossover

Even though they suggested otherwise, the all-new three-row crossover won’t be called XT7. Instead, the manufacturer will almost definitely introduce the 2019 Cadillac XT6. When it comes to SUVs, producer’s naming strategy is pretty simple and clear, so the XT6 seems like the most logical choice. Still, it’s far more important how good will be Cadillac’s future high-riding vehicle.

According to the carmaker, the upcoming XT6 will compete in luxury mid-size SUV segment. More precisely, it will try to take away a piece of cake from such amazing names like they truly are the Audi Q7, Land Rover Discovery, Land Rover Discovery, Infiniti QX70 and Volvo XC90. The task will be really hard without any doubt, but the carmaker seems to have a pretty good plan.

The 2019 Cadillac XT6 will use a General Motors’ long-wheelbase C1XX platform. However, even though the architecture already underpins the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave, Cadillac’s new crossover won’t be like them. No, they will try to make it more upscale, so we expect a range of standard and useful features, as well as top notch materials inside. Plus, the exterior styling will be nothing you use to from Cadillac. Instead, the SUV might receive these days popular coupe-like design with plenty of new details.

Judging by the information we have, the 2019 Cadillac XT6 will get a few options under the hood. The carmaker hasn’t confirmed that rumors, however, we are sure that the new three-row crossover won’t miss the chance to get a 3.6-liter V6 unit, which is capable of delivering up to 335 hp and 285 pound-feet of torque. As for the topper, it should get a 3.6-liter twin-turbo which makes 420 hp and 430 lb-ft of twist.

The XT6 will sit between the flagship Escalade and XT5, so it should be priced somewhere in the middle as well. There is nothing official at the moment, but we think that the luxury three-row SUV should cost around $55,000.
