The Chevrolet Suburban lives its 76th year and this makes it one of the oldest SUVs on the market. This boxy, body-on-frame full-sizer received a complete redesign, but the manufacturer plans to refresh this year model as well, so you can expect the 2016 Chevy Suburban with a few more new details. Moreover, the newest reports suggest that there will be a HD model, but it will be available just for Government and Commercial needs.
2016 Chevy Suburban: Changes and Upgrades
Let’s be honest. The 2015 and 2016 Suburban won’t differ too much. The SUV will receive a couple new colors and nothing more. Instead of Crystal Red Tintcoat and White Diamond Tricoat painted SUV, you will be able to get Siren Red Tintcoat and Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, which look much more attractive. The interior should feature more changes, and some rumors indicate that the 2016 Chevrolet Suburabn gets a standard MyLink infotainment, as well as a bigger 8-inch color touch screen. The new cabin will also lose an integrated SD card reader and AM/FM stereo with CD player, but the impressive interior gets OnStar 4G LTE system and radio-phone voice commands. Chevrolet’s safety department was busy too, so the SUV gets upgraded features and now offers: Lane Keep Assist, Safety Alert Seat and power-adjustable pedals, as well as Forward Collision Alert, IntelliBeam headlamps. As you may notice, instead of Lane Departure Warning the 2016 Suburban SUV will have Lane Keep Assist, so you will get assist in critical situations instead of so far warning.
2016 Chevy Suburban: Same Engine, Same Price
As expected, the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban won’t change anything under the hood. The SUV will continue with a 5.3-liter V8 engine, which will be able to produce 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The unit will be paired to a six-speed automatic transmission only, so the automaker has no intention to add a new eight-speed gearbox into the 2016 Chevy Suburban.
The large SUV won’t change its price, which means that you will be able to afford this outstanding vehicle for $49,000. The updated 2016 Chevrolet Suburban will be introduced this fall.
