2021 Ford Adventurer: Baby Bronco Spied Testing

Here are some spy shots of Blue Oval’s all-new Bronco SUV. Seems to be too small to be the Wrangler’s biggest nightmare? Well, it’s small, because the camouflage isn’t hiding The Bronco, but its smaller sibling, which is currently known as the “Baby Bronco”. The automaker hasn’t released any information regarding the name of the boxy little SUV, though our insiders claim that this new off-road-oriented vehicle is going to be called the 2021 Ford Adventurer. Some earlier reports suggested other naming strategies, so reportedly; the future model could be called Bronco Scout or Bronco Sport. In any case, whatever the automaker decides, this Escape-based SUV will make a statement without any doubt.

Even though it’s has been previewed as a “Baby Bronco”, the rugged-looking SUV isn’t going to have a lot in common with the off-road legend. Instead, the 2021 Ford Adventurer will offer pretty much the same abilities as the Escape. These two will not only share the same unibody architecture but will most probably use pretty much identical engine options. More precisely, the “Baby Bronco” will most definitely come paired with three- and four-cylinder options; plus, the carmaker has some electricity in mind, so the upcoming model could get hybrid or even plug-in hybrid technology. The only thing that will essentially set apart the upcoming boxy SUV from the Escape is going to be a better all-wheel-drive setup. Yes, the 2021 Adventurer will undoubtedly offer better off-road abilities and more kit that’s suitable for rough terrains.

The camouflage hides the details, but we don’t need them anyway since the official images leaked earlier this year.

What’s far more important is the fact that the “Baby Bronco” SUV is most probably going to be introduced together with its bigger brother – the real Bronco – at the 2020 Detroit Auto Show next January.
